We have been regular visitors to Reaching the Unreached (RTU) for a number of years and know how vital their various programmes are in helping the most vulnerable children and destitute families living in remote rural villages.  As John is retiring, we wanted to host a Get Together for our friends and colleagues so that all funds raised will go towards their life-changing work.

Focusing on children, RTU supports them and their families within local communities where possible. If this fails, their four Children’s Villages act as a safety net, providing care in a community setting with a foster mother, brothers and sisters. Children admitted have often lost one or both parents to diseases such as TB or HIV, to accidents, alcoholism, suicide or domestic violence.

Last year, RTU cared for 843 children in the Children's Villages and hostels. That's not to mention the 1,834 children educated through their schools, balwadies (pre-schools) and evening study centres, or the 2,497 bore wells that have been drilled to date. No fewer than 29,769 consultations took place in their medical and mobile clinics, while they directly supported 124 children from families affected by HIV/AIDS. They have 1,629 women members of our self-help groups and have built 9,077 houses to date.

Within these statistics, every number represents the life of a unique person whose future has been transformed – not to mention the positive impact on their family and community. Please help continue their vital work.

Thank you for your support,

John and Delyth
